Police in #Aberdeenshire are investigating the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl at a playpark.

Officers launched an investigation after receiving a report of an incident in Macduff on Monday, August 10.

The alleged assault is understood to have taken place at a park in the Duff Street area, close to the town’s Community and Sports Centre.

Police Scotland confirmed enquiries are ongoing and said officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing following a report of the sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl in the Duff Street area of Macduff on Monday, 10 August, 2026.
