Home Office has released new figures⁠ saying French units prevented 185 small-boat crossing events involving more than 4,300 attempted crossings between 27 April and 2 August.

The government says 61% of small-boat events were stopped during that period, about five percentage points higher than the comparable period in 2025.

Separately, newly released footage shows a confrontation on a northern French beach during an attempted launch.

People wearing lifejackets appear to throw objects towards French police, while officers use Pava spray and ultimately disable the inflatable dinghy.
